The construction industry is one of the biggest industries in world. One most important materials this reinforced steel bar. In site usually fabricated bars into form one-dimensional stocks and designed according to structural specification installed various components such as columns, beam, slab, foundation. purpose cutting stock problems for (rebar plan, RCP) satisfy project requirements also minimize losses, which major contributor waste As there are two objective functions, we call problem bi-objective rebar plan (B-RCP). previous research, efforts developed metaheuristics method losses preliminary engineering designs but it few consider about simplicity order achieve efficient work. Thus, research applies bi-optimization with epsilon constraint find trade-off solution between material number pattern decision making. This study proposed metaheuristic Symbiotic Organisms Search (SOS) solve B-RCP framework, feasible patterns along minimum total To test performance SOS case set be a benchmark, then create comparison PSO. For real instances RCP used evaluate validate SOS. validation results from both cases show that has better than PSO reducing patterns. validated competitive algorithm solving RCP.
